Simple, clear answers to help you stay in control and keep your business moving

1. Is Tax Debt Manager registered with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB)?

Yes, Amanda Shell is a registered specialist tax debt resolution provider with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). This ensures we meet national standards for professional and ethical tax practices.

2. What is the debt size you deal with?

TDM assists clients with debts ranging from $10,000 to millions.  However, we encourage anyone with an ATO debt to get in touch as sometimes a phone call can provide comfort and guidance regardless of whether you use our services.

3. What are the timeframes?

After your free 30-minute tax debt evaluation and receiving the necessary authority to act on your behalf, we provide a cost free, no obligation assessment of your debt with an outline of any fees to engage TDM further.

This is done within 24-72 hours. If TDM is engaged, most matters are resolved within 4–6 weeks, with urgent cases sometimes resolved within 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity of the matter.

4. What is the TDM process?

TDM's 4-Step Process

1. Meet & Greet (30–60 mins)

An introductory phone call to understand your situation, how the tax debt arose and what outcome you're aiming for. We will collect key information and if you're ready, request your authority to access your ATO portal to begin our due diligence.

2. Due Diligence (24–72 hours)

We conduct a cost-free, risk-free review of your ATO position. You’ll receive a clear summary of findings, options, and any fees if you wish to proceed. There is no obligation to engage us.

3. Scope of Works (3–6 weeks)

Upon formal engagement, we begin executing the agreed scope of works - negotiating with the ATO and progressing your case. Timelines depend on complexity, responsiveness and ATO processes.

4. Resolution & Outcome

We aim to secure a sustainable payment plan, remission of penalties (where possible) and stop enforcement action. Every case is tailored to your cashflow and compliance needs.

5. Are my details private?

Absolutely. Your privacy is our priority. All information is kept confidential and only shared with the ATO or other authorities with your permission, for the sole purpose of resolving your tax matter.

6. What does it cost to engage TDM?

TDM's fees are based on the complexity of each matter and are known ahead of the client committing to proceeding to Stage 3.

Along the way we aim to reduce the risk to you from a cost perspective.

It's important to point out, the end result and positive outcomes we achieve provide a significant financial benefit and peace of mind into the future, relative to the cost to engage us.

Our aim is to deliver value far exceeding the cost of engaging us, while helping clients regain control of their financial future.

7. Are TDM's services considered an act of insolvency?

NO!!

In essence, any entity with an ATO debt, should explore our services first. This may sound self-serving however there is ZERO RISK in exploring how we may be able to help.

TDM's services are PRIOR to any insolvency action and therefore won't affect your ASIC file unlike insolvency action.

If your goal is to continue in business but you're frustrated with your mounting ATO debt and penalties and charges, you MUST speak with us.

Our goal is to help you stem any legal action and regain control of your debt with the approval of the ATO, WITHOUT having to go down the insolvency path.

There is a time and place for actions like a Liquidation, Voluntary Administration , SBR (Small Business Restructure), Bankruptcy and other courses of insolvency action, however in most cases TDM can provide a cleaner path forward without affecting your ASIC file.
